Day 227 – Snickerdoodle Drizzled Cupcakes

Ok. Everyone loves snickerdoodles, right?  Cinnamon.  Sugar.  Yumminess!  But, these Snickerdoodle Drizzled Cupcakes (recipe below from What’s Cookin’).  That’s something different.  Cause it’s a snickerdoodle topped with chocolate and caramel and a Snickers bar.  WHAT?!  I know!!  Crazy!

The cupcakes are moderately dense and just a little bit sticky. The all spice is the star flavor for sure. A little cinnamon, but I get mostly all spice. They aren’t overly sweet, which is nice, since they have so much spice.


The frosting is a typical buttercream in consistency and in flavor. It has a very slight hint of cinnamon, but not terribly strong. It’s sweet and buttery and simple.

Ok. I love the look of this cupcake. Love it! So adorable and over the top. But, when you eat it with all the drizzle and toppings, you get mostly the hot fudge flavor. For me, that really takes away from the cinnamon, which takes a back seat. Without the toppings, the cinnamon and sugar are much more prominent. With the toppings, it’s still tasty, just not as cinnamon-y as I want a Snickerdoodle cupcake to be.

Snickerdoodle Drizzled Cupcakes (recipe below from What’s Cookin’)


  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla



  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • heavy cream, half and half or evaporated milk


  • Snickers bars sliced in 1/2 inch pieces
  • Ice cream topping Hot fudge and Caramel
