Day 220 – Double Chocolate Cupcakes

I can never have enough chocolate.  Never.  Tell me you agree with me.  Please…..

Well, either way, I hope you enjoy these Double Chocolate Cupcakes (recipe below from Sweet Harts Cakes & Bakes).  Because, I can never get enough chocolate!


The cupcakes are dense, kinda like a brownie. They seriously stick to the sides of the wrapper, so you may wanna give it a spray too. They have a nice, smooth chocolatey taste. Milk chocolate too, which is unusual. But tasty.

Note: The mini spread when they baked and then fell apart when I took them out of the pan.


The frosting is smooth and creamy. It’s a sweet buttercream with a nice white chocolate flavor. Not overly sweet, just simple.


The white chocolate overpowers the milk chocolate a little, which I wouldn’t expect. You get a strong white chocolate flavor at the beginning, then it fades into the milk chocolate. It’s sweet and simple. A chocolate lovers cupcake, without being “in your face” chocolatey.

Double Chocolate Cupcakes (recipe from Sweet Harts Cakes & Bakes)

  • 120g plain flour
  • 2tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 90g chopped milk chocolate (if you prefer then you could use plain)
  • 170g cubed unsalted butter
  • 215g caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 100g white chocolate
  • 120g unsalted butter
  • 120g icing sugar
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
