Day 215 – Nuts About Chocolate Cupcakes

Ok, these Nuts About Chocolate Cupcakes (recipe below from Lick The Bowl Good) might be slightly cheating on my “homemade” commitment.  Not that it’s out-of-a-box, but there’s no actual frosting.  That’s right.  It’s just Nutella….and more Nutella.  I didn’t figure you’d mind.  (I know I don’t!)

Chocolate-Cupcake     Mini-Chocolate-cupcake

The cupcakes are extremely dense and chewy.  They’re moist though, not dry at all.  It kinda feels and tastes like eating a Hershey’s chocolate syrup mousse.  Strong chocolate flavor.  That distinct Hershey’s syrup flavor.

Nutella

The frosting is….well…it’s Nutella.  Chocolate. Hazelnut. Enough said.

Together they taste like a cake version of the Ferrero Rocher.  It’s amazing! This is a perfect, quick but classy dessert!  It looks beautiful and elegant, and is so simple to make.

  • Frosting Taste: 3 (I mean, it’s better than that, but it’s not frosting)

RECIPE

Nuts About Chocolate Cupcakes (recipe from Lick The Bowl Good)

  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 11 fluid ounces Hershey’s chocolate syrup
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Nutella
  • Ferrero Rocher candies
