Imagine Award

A big thank you to Tasty Treats 13’s Blog for this fantastic award!  Make sure you check out that blog, if you haven’t already!

3-5 Things I like about Tasty Treats 13’s blog:

  • I love the concept!  A dessert blog about bringing desserts to school for a project.  So creative!
  • In case you didn’t catch it….a DESSERT blog!  My favorite kind.  There are other recipes too, but, let’s face it.  I’m all about the desserts!
  • I love the variety that this blog offers.  From cakes to cookies to pies and everything in between!

What is The Imagine Award?

“The Imagine Award” is an award created by Jenn Mulherin (who is the writer of the blog “My Fibrotastic Life!”) in October of 2013. This award was made in order to recognize the bloggers who express their passion and dedication towards their blogs through their creativity.

How is creativity found in a blog?

Just like beauty, creativity is in the eye of the beholder. There are many unique ways which bloggers can express their creativity. Creativity can be displayed through:

Words (such as writing fictional stories or real life experiences, poetry, quotes, using metaphors, etc.)
Pictures (this can include photos, comics, computer-drawn pictures, etc.)
The layout of the blog page
The degree of creativity is one of the qualities in a blog which not only draws more readers, but it shows how much the blogger cares about their blog. The caretaking of a blog is like taking care of a plant. In order to keep it healthy and growing, you need to feed the blog with your ideas and give it a lot of love.

Day 186 – Blue Moon Cupcakes

2 Feb

It’s the day of the big game…or so I’ve been told.  I must confess.  I’m not really a sports person.  But, even I know that the Super Bowl is today.  So, for all you football fans (or beer fans OR cupcake fans), I give you Blue Moon Cupcakes (recipe below from Melissa Creates).

Orange-Cupcake     Mini-Orange-Cupcake

The cupcakes are thick, dense and fairly moist. A lot like a pound cake. They have a very strong orange flavor, with a little sweetness and a Blue Moon aftertaste.

The frosting is smooth and creamy. It’s thick, but very easy to pipe. It has a sweet, orange-cream-cheese flavor. Simple and yummy.

Blue-Moon-Cupcake     Mini-Blue-Moon-Cupcake

Together it’s sweet and very orange-flavored! Very orange. Delightfully so. There is a slight beer aftertaste, which is a little odd, but not a bad thing. Especially if you like beer. I’m not sure I would know there was beer in this cupcake by just tasting it. There would be an odd aftertaste, but it’s not strong enough to know necessarily. But, if you’re a Blue Moon fan, this is totally your cupcake. A little more orange-flavored than the beer, but a very nice interpretation.
