Day 77 – Chai Latte Cupcakes

16 Oct

Today’s cupcakes have me totally itching to curl up on the couch with my dog and watch a movie…or read…or nap…All.  Day.  Long.  Do you ever feel like that?  Chai Latte Cupcakes (recipe below from A Spicy Perspective).

Chai-Cake     Mini-Chai-cake

The cupcake is moist. A little like a carrot cake consistency.  Cake has a strong chai flavor. Not very sweet alone.

Chai-frosting-away     Chai-Frosting

The frosting is smooth and easy to pipe. It’s very pretty with flecks of spice.  It is super yummy! And could easily (and delightfully) go with other cupcakes too.

Chai-Cupcake     Mini-Chai-Cupcake

The combo is better together! The frosting brings out the sweetness that the cake needs. Minis are actually better cause the balance between the cake and the frosting is more even.  But, the recipe is called to make 48 minis, so that’s not surprising!
